Update, 7:25 a.m.: The victim is a 16-year-old boy from Hannibal, Missouri, who was trying to cross the roadway. He was with his father at the time, Beaubien said.

There are several hotels and restaurants on both sides of Wilma Rudolph Boulevard around the Holiday Drive intersection. Several pedestrians have been hit over the years trying to cross in that area.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A pedestrian was hit and killed on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard Wednesday night.

At about 9:11 p.m., a vehicle traveling north on Wilma hit a pedestrian near Holiday Drive, according to Clarksville Police spokesman Scott Beaubien. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

At 9:45 p.m., both north and southbound lanes of Wilma Rudolph were shut down at Holiday Drive and will remain so until the scene can be processed by FACT investigators.

CPD is recommending motorists find an alternate route until the roadway can be reopened.

No further information has been released.
