Paula Ann Clark Russ, age 79, of Clarksville, passed away Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Gateway Medical Center.

She was born in Malden, MA, to the late Rufus John Clark and Mary Francis Gibbons Clark. Paula was also preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, James Franklin Russ; brother, Rufus John Clark, Jr.; and one sister, Mary Frances Ball.

Paula was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She has always been an active member of the church, the Legion of Mary, teaching CCD, and a keeper of the alter linens, as well as a member of the Beta Sigma Pi sorority. Mrs. Russ was a lover of the arts and history.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 8 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with Father Christino Nunes officiating. Burial will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-West, in Hopkinsville, KY. Visitation will be on from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Tuesday, October 7, with a Rosary following at 6:30 p.m. at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Stephen Ball, Kevin Smyth, James Smyth, Edward Ball, Brendan Johnson, Colin Johnson, Patrick Johnson, and Rufus Clark.

Paula is survived by three daughters, Mary Gail Russ, of Clarksville, Theresa Russ, of Reading, MA, Denise Johnson, of Clarksville; one sister, Carol Ann Hill, of Buford, SC; ten grandchildren, Corey (Urias) Mends Cole, Brenda (Vik) Ghai, Kevin (Emily) Smyth, James Smyth, Brendan, Erin, Colin, Patrick, Moira, and Emma Johnson; and two great grandchildren, Caelin and Julia Smyth.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Immaculation Conception School, 1901 Madison Street, Clarksville, TN 37043.
