CLARKSVILLE, TN − Clarksville Community Concert Association will host the Paul Brock Irish Band, 3 p.m. Nov. 3, at the George and Sharon Mabry Concert Hall, Austin Peay State University, 780 Marion Street.

The internationally renowned Paul Brock Irish Band has been performing for decades. Brock, a button accordionist, accompanied by Jake James, fiddle; Denis Carey, piano; and Brenda Dowling flute, will perform a variety of songs in the Irish music tradition. The ensemble also blends elements of American old-time and bluegrass, French Canadian, and other Celtic traditions to create a unique experience.

“I hope the community will come out and enjoy these concerts with us in Mabry Hall, an acoustically acclaimed concert venue,” said Ann Silverberg, CCCA president. To get the most out of the experience, attendees should arrive at 2 p.m. for the 30-minute pre-concert talk about the band and the songs they will perform.

Paul Brock Irish Band will perform the final concert in 2024. The series will resume, 3 p.m. January 26, 2025, with Chanticleer an all-male a cappella group world-renowned as “an orchestra of voices”; Maharajah Flamenco Trio, 3 p.m. March 16, performing jazz, classical, and world music fused; and Bobby Watson Group, 7:30 p.m., April 5, headlining the 64th Mid-South Jazz Festival.

“The concert series is very important to Clarksville because we are a growing community. Most of the people who move here have an interest in what Clarksville has to offer because we are so diverse,” Dr. Rashidah Leverett, CCCA board member and Montgomery County commissioner said. “This concert series offers high-level performers who speak to the rich culture and interests of our community at an affordable cost.”

It is especially valuable to our youth, Leverett said. “A lot of children may not be exposed to live music. For the low cost of $5 student fee, they are exposed to various instruments performed live and different genres of music by skilled performers. The Clarksville Community Concert series offers unparalleled access to families in Montgomery County and the region.”

Leverett, who attended her first concert in 2024 featuring vibraphonist Warren Wolf, was blown away by the performance. “I encourage you to come out and experience a live performance,” Leverett said. “I can guarantee that you will walk away with an experience that you will talk about for years to come.”

Regular admission is $25 with 10 percent discounts for seniors 65 and older, military and educators. Admission for students, 18 and younger, is $5 and free for all Austin Peay students with ID. Individual livestream tickets are $20. Free parking is available near the concert hall.
