CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A passenger involved in a crash Aug. 16 on Purple Heart Parkway has died from injuries and complications sustained in the crash.

Police said 66-year-old Linda Skaggs died Aug. 25.

On Aug. 16 around 6 p.m., a 2016 Jeep Compass driven by a 36-year-old female was turning south onto Jordan Rd. from Purple Heart Parkway. She had a green light without a green arrow, had the sun in her eyes, and did not see the oncoming 2010 HHR, driven by a 74-year-old male, traveling east on Purple Heart Parkway.

The 2010 HHR collided with the 2016 Jeep Compass.

The driver of the HHR and a juvenile were transported by ambulance to Tennova and the passenger, Linda Skaggs, was transported by Lifeflight to Vanderbilt. The driver of the Jeep was checked at the scene and not transported.

The driver of the Jeep Compass was cited for Failure to Yield.
