CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Downtown @ Sundown concert series returns this Friday at 7 p.m. with country band Parmalee.

Parmalee has made 6 entries on Billboard’s charts, including “Carolina,” and “Just the Way,” a new collaboration with Blanco Brown. Lead singer Matt said he and band were excited to back on the road, visiting places like Clarksville.

“It’s great, it’s fun. You realize once you get out there what you’ve been missing,” Matt said. “You can rehearse all you want, but it takes a few shows to get really in the groove of things.”

Parmalee fans can expect to hear a few new songs this weekend. Matt said the band just wrapped up several new songs for a new album that is set to release in July.

Downtown @ Sundown is a free concert series held at Clarksville’s Downtown Commons on the first and third Friday of each month through October. The event features live music, local food trucks, and drinks benefitting local non-profits. This Friday’s featured non-profit is the United Way of the Greater Clarksville Region.

“Having a recognized band like Parmelee is the perfect way to kick-off our concert series! We have the entertainment, the food and the fun, all at Downtown Commons this Friday. We are expecting good weather and a great crowd on the Commons this Friday night,” said Downtown Commons Event Manager Elizabeth Quinton.
