
After a weekend dominated by showers and hazardous conditions, Clarksville-Montgomery County will have mostly sunny weather on Monday, before snow showers are expected to hit the following night.

The Clarksville Academy Cougars traveled to Ezell Harding Christian for the Division II-A Middle Distirct Championship against the Goodpasture Cougars, who are ranked number one in their class in the state. The Cougars battled, but couldn’t get stops down the stretch, and Goodpasture won the “Battle of the Cougars” 65-52.

The Richview Middle School boys’ basketball team traveled to Rockvale High School for the TMSAA Class 3A State Championship game against the Elmore Park Eagles, who had not lost a game in over three years. The Eagles caught fire from three early on and built a big lead, as the Cowboys couldn’t come back from the early deficit.
“With all of the rain we’ve had in recent weeks, we were bracing for a significant flash flooding event. Today, unfortunately, it happened, bringing challenges throughout our city, and our first priority is helping our residents who are dealing with the brunt of it,” said Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts on Flash Floods of February 15, 2025.

The Kirkwood Cobras hosted the Kenwood Knights at “The Pit” on Friday night for the final night of the regular season. An absolute classic of a game saw both teams trade the lead down the stretch before they headed to overtime, where the Cobras got just enough shots to fall and earned a 51-47 win to close their season with 21 wins, the most in their program’s history.

The Kirkwood Lady Cobras hosted the Kenwood Knights at Kirkwood High School for the final night of the regular season on Friday. The two teams were battling early, but a 15-1 run in the third quarter for the Cobras allowed them to pull away, and Kirkwood earned a 46-25 win.
The Clarksville-Montgomery County area is currently under a Flash Flood Warning until Saturday, at 12:15 p.m., while also having a Flood Watch remain in effect until noon tomorrow.
