Kirkwood High softball pitcher throws first no-hitter in school history

Kirkwood High Softball Pitcher Maddie Ratcliff threw the first no-hitter in Cobras softball program history in the season opener, defeating Jo Byrns High School on Thursday night, 12-0.

Clarksville High girls’ basketball wins third consecutive region championship in instant classic | PHOTOS

The Clarksville Lady Wildcats and Henry County Patriots met up at Springfield High School for the Region 7-4A championship, with the winner hosting a sectional game on Saturday, and the loser traveling to Bartlett. A physical, gritty contest had everything you could ask for: lead changes, controversial calls, and, to end it all, Malon Smith sank two free throws with a second remaining to give the Wildcats a 35-33 win and their third consecutive region championship.
