CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – In the coming months, more than 500 new homes will be built on-post at Fort Campbell, and 400 others are set for renovations in 2021.
The 500 new homes will replace 400 outdated homes that are set for demolition in the Campbell Crossing neighborhood of the installation. The project is part of a partnership between the United States Army and Lendlease, a multinational construction, property and infrastructure company.
This latest investment in Fort Campbell comes after the announcement last August that Lendlease was approved by the Army to construct 144 new homes in the LaPointe Village neighborhood on-post.
That project also included the renovation of 170 homes and the demolition of more than 250 homes as part of a $87.4 million long-term development plan for military housing.
“The Army’s partnership with Lendlease will improve the quality of life for soldiers and their families in multiple communities and provides a valuable model for increasing and accelerating investment into this top Army priority. We appreciate the hard work and efforts of Lendlease, working in partnership with the Army, to achieve this commitment,” Commanding General of U.S. Army Installation Management Command Lt. Gen. Doug Gabram said in a news release about the project.
Construction and renovation of these homes is expected to begin in spring of 2021.
