CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Over 50 horses were rescued from slaughter by Horse Plus Humane Society on Tuesday. The humane society went to the slaughter auction in hopes of saving horses as they do every month. A normal month sees an average of 25 horses rescued.

There were 92 horses at the sale Tuesday. Over half were saved from the slaughter pipeline by the team, including a mother and baby.
