CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – During this weekend’s ice storm, the all-volunteer Clarksville Jeep Crew assisted over 170 vehicles that were trapped by ice and snow, including one police car and two ambulances.

But that total is likely much higher, as those were just the assists that were documented by volunteer dispatchers, according to CJC member Crystal Libby.

Sunday night, three CJC Jeeps led by Mike Calzaretta towed a Montgomery County Emergency Medical Services ambulance up a hill on Springlot Road off of Warfield Boulevard. The ambulance was going up the hill and got stuck at a bad angle, according to CJC member Lynn Yonts, who captured the moment on video.

The CJC also provided transportation to emergency workers and essential employees. On Monday, they were able to transport 145 people, but they had to shut down their online request form because they hit 300 requests – taking them beyond their capacity.
