BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Due to the on-going developments related to COVID-19 the Ohio Valley Conference previously announced that all team practices were suspended until April 3, 2020 and would be re-evaluated at that time.
After re-evaluation by the OVC Board of Presidents, additional policies become effective after April 3.
No in-person countable athletically related activities. The OVC will still not allow games or gatherings of any kind.
Physical virtual countable athletically related activities are not permissible. Coaches are not permitted to give virtual instruction, be present, conduct, etc. virtual physical activities. All physical workouts must be voluntary.
Nonphysical virtual athletic activities are permissible and must adhere to NCAA Division I regulations as if student-athletes were on campus and participating in out of season activities (e.g., 8 hours per week).
The main priority of the OVC is to ensure the safety of student-athletes, coaches, and administrators. The organization will continue to monitor all relevant information on the COVID-19 virus on a daily basis.
