CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) held its Out of Darkness Walk on Sept. 14 at Austin Peay State University, with 233 participants in 30 teams.
The event raised over $13,000 for the American Foundation Suicide Prevention group and helped raise awareness about mental health and suicide prevention. The event included a memorial ceremony to honor those we’ve lost and acknowledgement of those who still struggle. The group then walked to demonstrate that no one has to walk alone.

The top fundraising team was Music Heals: Team Henry, which raised over $5,000. The top fundraising individual was Kim Messina-Wilson.
