CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – So this past weekend I had some company here in town that I haven’t seen in almost 20 years!
It started as a group chat on Twitter between some of my fellow castaways from the first season of Survivor and me. We had never really had the chance to spend time just sitting and talking about our combined experiences and thoughts about the voting and how we felt about being on the show.
Initially, there were more RSVPs, but as time got closer some had to drop out because of other obligations.
The first to arrive was Rich; who is probably more well-known for walking around naked on the show than he is for winning. Turns out when Rich isn’t scheming, he is really fun to have around.
Next to arrive was Sonja, who has the dubious distinction of being the first person ever voted off ‘Survivor’. She is such a lovely person, the perfect house guest, and is now 82.
Ramona and Gervase flew in together. Ramona is stunning. She’s fit, together, and the best mother in the world. She really should get a second chance at the game. Gervase is the life of every party. Like Rich, he has played the game twice and is such a great story teller.
We sat around the fire, ate (Excell Bar-b-que), and brought each other up to date on what has been going on in our lives. Joel got in late and unfortunately only over-lapped Rich, who had to leave early, by a couple of hours. Joel and Gervase are a riot together! Joel brought his wife and, despite the reputation he got on the show for being a chauvinist, he must be doing something right because she is amazing.
The weekend went so quickly and I was so sad when everyone left. We did, however, make plans to do it again next year!
