CLARKSVILLE, TN — On Friday, July 29, national nonprofit Operation Homefront, in partnership with CSX, distributed hundreds of backpacks with essential school supplies to military children in the Clarksville area as a part of Operation Homefront’s annual Back-to-School Brigade.  The event took place at Clarksville Regional Airport.

“The stress of military life hits these families hard, especially during a year with record inflation and tightening budgets,” said Vivian Dietrich, senior director of Operation Homefront. “Thanks to the generosity of CSX and their dedicated employees, we are able to provide some relief for this very special group of our fellow Americans. Not only has CSX dedicated valuable resources, but their employees have also spent countless hours packing more than 2000 backpacks in preparation for our distribution events in Jacksonville, Tampa and Clarksville, Tennessee.”

As part of Operation Homefront’s mission to build strong, stable, and secure military families, the nationwide Back-to-School Brigade is supported by CSX, through their Pride in Service initiative, and offers a tangible way to express gratitude to military families for their service on behalf of all Americans.
