CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Operation Come Together #stayhomeandsew, has set up an operations center at the old location of Edington’s Etc. furniture store at 327 Warfield Blvd. The site is one of many operated by the group, which has been sewing masks and making face shields for local healthcare facilities.
“We are using the facility so we can quickly collect supplies, donations, anything that people have that they can bring here so we can further our operations,” said founder Victoria Shoulders.
Alongside Clarksville, Operation Come Together has expanded their work to Fort Campbell, Dover, Erin and other locations in the Greater Nashville area.
Anyone that would like to volunteer to join the effort can pick up a sewing kit and learn about making masks for health care facilities and essential workers.
Operation Come Together has provided masks to multiple local medical facilities, but they are in need of more supplies and also financial donations to buy supplies, so they can continue to produce masks for those essential workers.
Shoulders emphasized that the masks are not being sewn or distributed at the Warfield Blvd. location.
