CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – High school basketball kicked off Tuesday night for Clarksville-area schools. Let’s take a look around the city to see some of the results from opening night.
In the only in-city matchup of opening night, Rossview swept Kenwood in the girls’ and boys’ games, with the girls winning 53-33, and the boys winning 53-41.
Kirkwood’s boys picked up the biggest statement win of opening night, beating defending state champs Providence Christian Academy, 70-63.
Clarksville High’s girls fell to Mount Juliet at home, 54-38, but the Wildcats’ boys team dominated, winning 71-26 to start the season off with a win.
Both Clarksville Academy squads secured wins on Proctor Court, with the girls winning 71-28 and the boys winning 52-37.
Montgomery Central’s boys defeated Stewart County 65-56, while the girls fell to the Rebels 26-58.
Both of Northwest’s squads fell to Friendship Christian on the road on Tuesday.
Clarksville Christian’s girls picked up a win in their road test at Pleasant View Christian, 60-33, while the boys fell to the Warriors, 38-56, for their first loss of the year.
Northeast’s Lady Eagles fell 12-73 to Liberty Creek, while their boys also lost to the Wolves 77-42.
The only two teams not in action in the Clarksville area, West Creek and Fort Campbell, will open their seasons on Thursday, against Cane Ridge and Madisonville North Hopkins, respectively.
