CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A man has died from his injuries sustained in a crash on Kraft Street near Emerald Dr. Monday morning.
A witness driving a non-contact vehicle going westbound on Kraft St. slowed down to make a legal left turn to a private driveway, according to police.
A 2013 Subaru Forester driven by 67-year-old Dana McGraw from Dickson, TN, was traveling eastbound on Kraft St.
The witness stated she saw a 1992 Chevrolet Lumina being driven by 31-year-old Andre White from Clarksville, TN, approaching from behind.
The witness thought she was going to be hit from behind by the Chevrolet. Andre White then illegally passed the non-contact vehicle by crossing double yellow lines and proceeding westbound on Kraft St. in the eastbound travel lane.
The Chevrolet Lumina struck the Subaru Forester, resulting in fatal injuries to Andre White, and damaging both vehicles.
White was transported by LifeFlight to Vanderbilt University Hospital where he was pronounced dead. It is unknown if Andre White was under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
McGraw was transported to a medical facility with what appeared to be minor injuries.
