HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Two women have died and a man is in custody after an apparent double stabbing in Hopkinsville Sunday morning.

Just before 7 a.m., Hopkinsville police were called to a disturbance at a home in the 1700 block of East 7th Street.

When they arrived, they found 69-year-old Francis Carolyn Coleman of Houston, TX suffering from a stab wound to her neck. She was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where she later died.

62-year-old Joanne Rogers of Hopkinsville was found dead inside the home, and Hopkinsville police say she also appears to have died from stab wounds.

Police found 65-year-old Robert Jerry Rogers of Hopkinsville inside the home. He had blood on his body and his clothing.

Rogers was arrested and charged with two counts of murder.

Both women were sisters of the suspect.
