MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Tenn. – One person was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Hwy 48 in Cumberland Furnace Saturday evening.
According to a report from Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP), 24-year-old Alyssa Glidden of Dickson, TN was traveling southbound on Hwy 48 around 7:23 p.m.
Glidden’s Ford Explorer crossed over the line three feet into the northbound lane, striking a large RV-type vehicle (Prevost 345) head-on driven by 56-year-old Nathanael Gates of Evansville, Illinois.
Glidden died from her injuries in the crash.
Gates was injured, but details were not released.
The report states that drugs and alcohol were not factors in the crash. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
