CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Clarksville Police are continuing to investigate the fiery crash that occurred Monday afternoon involving five vehicles. The crash occurred around 3:00 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Rossview Rd and Warfield Blvd.
According to preliminary investigation, a woman in her 80s was driving a Honda Accord when she collided with a Jeep Liberty and Honda Odyssey.
The Odyssey then collided with an Infiniti, forcing that vehicle into a Toyota Forerunner.
It is still unclear at what point the fire began. The fire spread quickly to four out of the five vehicles. Three vehicles were totally engulfed in fire, one vehicle was partially burned, and a fifth vehicle had some ash on it with minor damage.
The fire was so intense that metal pieces burnt into the roadway.
There was no indication of braking by the vehicle driven by the woman in her 80s.
The woman in her 80s was taken by ambulance to Tennova and transferred by Lifeflight to a Nashville hospital in critical condition. There were two others transported with minor injuries. treated, and released.
