CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Montgomery County Fire Service responded to a structure fire in East Montgomery on Thursday afternoon.

On Oct. 17, at approximately 4:35 p.m., Stations 16, 17 and 18 responded to a structure fire on Oak Plains Road in East Montgomery, according to MCFS. Units arrived on scene to smoke billowing from the back of the house.

According to MCFS spokesman, Kevin Falsetto, the home was vacant and may have been for some time now. There was no electricity, and despite the moderate amount of fire damage, the structure is still standing.

No injuries were reported at the scene and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
