CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Many great conversations have been had – and friends have been made – over a beer. Which is why when the opportunity came up, Jarrod Stover jumped to bring Old Abe’s Brew House to Clarksville.
Stover was a soldier on Fort Campbell, serving from 2007 to 2011 as a member of the 2nd Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment “No Slack” for two tours, once to Iraq then to Afghanistan. He wanted something that represents that special relationship of the community to Fort Campbell.
“It is for everyone – not just military, although people in this town are more or less connected to Fort Campbell,” Stover said. “We want to be a family-oriented place, where the wife and kids can come and have some food, but there will be nights where the brewhouse is reserved for adults.”
Old Abe’s Brewhouse has 14 beer selections ready to go. Some food options will also be available, but Stover says, “It’ll be a bar-bar.” Guests can enjoy a beer along with pretzels, beer cheese, chicken wings and cheesecake for dessert.
Old Abe’s Brewhouse is located at 2088 Lowes Drive, Suite H, in the former location of Tennessee Valley Brewing Company.
The owners of TVBC, Eric and Wendy Brannstrom, sold their business after a brief relocaton downtown. The Brannstroms will be part of the new team at Old Abe’s, with Eric as head brewmaster and Wendy head of bartending.
“I control all of the beer, I get to do all of the fun stuff,” Eric Brannstrom said. “Now I focus on the things I enjoy doing; I like the brewing part.”
Hours of operation are Monday-Thursday 3-11 p.m., Friday 3 p.m.-midnight, Saturday noon-midnight, and Sunday noon-10 p.m. For more, call 931-378-5259 or email oldabesbrewhouse@gmail.com or visit them on Facebook.
