FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A Fort Campbell soldier has been taken into custody following the death of a woman on post.
According to Maj. Martin Meiners, Public Affairs Officer at Fort Campbell, the soldier was taken into custody after the death of an adult civilian female in an incident that occurred Dec. 18 on Fort Campbell.
Officials have not released the names of the soldier or the woman.
The incident is under investigation by U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command.
“If and when charges are filed, the Army will release further information,” Maj. Meiners said in a statement.
No further information about the incident is available at this time.
