CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A Clarksville woman who was initially arrested for shoplifting tacked on a few more charges after fighting with police officers.

According to a news release, 20-year-old Chauntel Jackson was arrested Thursday afternoon at Walmart on Fort Campbell Blvd. for shoplifting. Police said she became combative while they were handcuffing her, and it required three officers to hold her as the cuffs were placed behind her back.

The officers said Jackson kicked and spat on the first officer, kicked and attempted to bite the second officer, and dug her fingernails into the hand of the third officer.

Jackson also allegedly kicked out the driver’s side window of a squad car, and the glass cut the hand and arm of a nearby officer.

After being treated at Gateway ER, Jackson was booked into the Montgomery County Jail and charged with theft, vandalism, resisting arrest, and three counts of aggravated assault. Her bond was set at $91,000.
