CLARKSVILLE, Tenn (CLARKSVILLENOW) – On Friday, November 8, Officer Jonathan Williams was recognized for his actions during an emergency situation and was presented with a Lifesaver Award. The Lifesaver award is given to officers whose direct actions save or extend the life of another person.
On September 19, 2019, around 10 a.m, Officer Jonathan Williams responded to a 911 call at the Marathon Gas Station at 2088 Wilma Rudolph Blvd. A woman was lying on the floor of the business and not breathing.
After arriving on the scene, Williams immediately began performing CPR. Emergency personnel arrived, and the victim was taken to Tennova Medical Center and later transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center. The clerk survived the medical emergency, and the EMS supervisor on duty stated that the CPR efforts of Officer Williams greatly contributed to the survival of the patient.
“The actions of Officer Williams brought great credit upon himself, the Clarksville Police Department, and the City of Clarksville,” said CPD Spokesperson Jim Knoll.
