Odom “Red” Harris, age 91, of Dover, TN was born on August 11, 1928, in Franklin, TN to Thomas Francis and Nancy (Edwards) Harris and died on February 20, 2020, in Jackson, TN. He married Nona (Thomason) Harris, who survives, on June 27, 1953, in Granite City, IL by the Rev. Lurton George.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, Crystal Amy Harris, two brothers, and six sisters. He is survived by sons, Dale (Jackie) Harris of Granite City, IL and Lynn (Bertha) Harris of Dover, TN; 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Odom served in the U.S. Air Force from 1946 -1948 as a Flight Radio Operator and then retired in 1990 from Feralloy Steel Processing before moving to Dover, TN in 1991. He enjoyed walking in the woods and digging roots, working word puzzles and spending time with his family.
The funeral service will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 22, 2020, at Anglin Funeral Home with Bro. David Whitehead officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery. Visitation will be at 11: 00 am until the time of service.
Tim Harris, Buddy Harris, Jimmy Hughes, Rockey Newman, Kendall Jonier, Daniel Thomason, Larry Blankenship, and JR Taylor will serve as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kurt Munger, Saul Salazar, Michael Boyd, Dylan Boyd, Broc Rodgers, Ray Feijo, Roland Neronha, Carl Everett, and Lucas Hughes as flower bearer.
