OAK GROVE, Ky. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The best and brightest were spotlighted this week at the Southeast Festivals and Events Association’s (SFEA) Kaleidoscope Awards in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. on February 25. The ceremony was held in conjunction with the SFEA Annual Conference. Top festivals and events throughout the southeast were recognized for their outstanding contribution to the events industry.

A panel of experts in event planning, marketing, and tourism spent an entire day reviewing the entries from five states. The judges looked for originality, creativity, media impact, volunteer programs, and the overall impact to the community. The categories, in which one can win recognition, are also diverse, ranging from Best Marketing Campaign to Best T-Shirt to Best Festival or Event.

Oak Grove Tourism brought home a Kaleidoscope Award for the 3rd year in a row. Event Coordinators Whitney Stewart & Cassie Howe of Oak Grove Tourism & Convention Commission were presented the award.

Oak Grove earned a bronze SFEA Kaleidoscope Award for Best Children’s Programming for their Annual Butterfly Festival.

Oak Grove, Ky. has been very well represented by their Tourism Commission, as they have been recognized both regionally and internationally. They won the Silver Pinnacle award for Best New Event “The Solar Eclipse Experience” in 2018 at the International Festival & Event Association Conference last October held in San Diego, Calif.

“I am and will always be extremely proud of my team,” said Traci Cunningham, executive director of the Oak Grove Tourism Commission. “They work hard year after year to bring these free family fun signature festivals to the community we love. We strive to make Oak Grove, Ky. a popular tourist destination that everyone can be proud of and these festivals make that happen. I have to give a huge shout out to Britnee Ohman, my marketing executive. She worked long and hard on this year’s submission package. She loves her job and it shows year after year when we win. I am grateful to her for loving her job! I am proud of Oak Grove and these festivals and it will always be my pleasure to play such an important part in the growth of Oak Grove, Ky. and these award-winning festivals for years to come.”
