CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Oak Grove resident who purchased a winning $1 million Powerball ticket at a Fort Campbell Boulevard business claimed their prize Monday, September 23.
The winner, who chose to remain anonymous, claimed their prize at the headquarters in Louisville, Ky., according to Chip Polston, SR VP of Communications for the Kentucky Lottery,

The winner’s ticket was purchased from 101 Lottery matched and had all five white ball numbers, but not the Powerball. The combination brought their winnings to $1 million.
A member of the winner’s family first checked the ticket Sunday morning after the drawing and discovered the win.
“At first, I thought they were kidding, but the five numbers on the ticket matched up. We just couldn’t believe it,” the winner said.
The winner hopes to use some of the funds for travel, and then plans to put the rest of it to work.
“This is a life-changing event, and I plan on using this wisely,” the winner said.
The winning numbers were 1-9-22-36-68 and the Powerball 22.
The store where the ticket was purchased will receive a $10,000 selling bonus.
The next drawing will be held today, Sept. 25 with a jackpot worth $40 million.
