OAK GROVE, Ky. – (CLARKSVILLENOW.COM) An Oak Grove, Kentucky, police officer found a body on the side of a road Wednesday.
Kentucky State Police are now investigating the Carter Road discovery as a homicide.
An autopsy was performed by the State Medical Examiner in Madisonville. The results showed that the subject is a black male, but no further identification was able to be obtained. Positive identification is now pending on examination of DNA or dental records.
State police say the officer was on patrol and noticed a strong odor. That’s when he happened upon the unidentified body in a wooded area, several feet from the road.
Further details pertaining to the cause of death, cannot be released at this time, due to the ongoing investigation.
