CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Students enrolled in the Health Science Academy at Northwest High School have been working diligently to expand their knowledge of the health care field.
Rep. Joe Pitts visited the Academy Oct. 1 to discuss the influences of health care in politics. On Oct. 8, Senator Mark Green will visit the academy and speak about his career in the medical industry.
Students will also showcase their first “challenge products” Oct. 10 during Health Science Academy Parent Night. Fifth graders from feeder elementary schools and parents are invited to attend. The challenge products are Health Safety and Prevention Handbooks and Public Service Announcements. The feeder elementary schools have agreed to use the products as a way of teaching their 5th graders the importance of health safety and prevention and how it affects their attendance and success in school.
