CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) –  Stars of The National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) and Tried-N-True (TNT) Productions clashed Friday night in a raucous pre-event press conference at the Pinnacle Entertainment Center in Clarksville.

Among those appearing were actor David Arquette, Smashing Pumpkins front-man and NWA owner Billy Corgan, and TNT’s Anthony “Crimson” Mayweather, U.S. Army veteran and professional wrestler.

Mayweather’s Tried-N-Pro Productions has partnered with Corgan for the first ever “NWA Pop-Up Event,” Saturday, January 5 at Clarksville’s Wilma Rudolph Event Center.

Corgan, a lifelong devotee of pro wrestling said, “I’m very proud to work with Crimson and Tried-N-True for our first Pop Up event,” and called Clarksville the perfect place for such an event because of its devoted fan base.

He also talked about the legends that inspired him to bring back the National Wrestling Alliance.  “I think of the incredible legacy set by people like Jack Brisco and Harley Race and Ric Flair and Dusty Rhodes. So many great champions and I think the women are as inheritors of that legacy just as the men are,” Corgan said.

The ‘New Year’s Clash’ features all active defending NWA Champions including Nick Aldis, Willie Mack, and NWA Women’s Champion Jazz as well as a match for the returning Crockett Cup Tag Team Tournament in what Crimson calls a “history-making live event.”

Tickets for the ‘New Year’s Clash’ are available online at the Tried-N-True website.
