CLAKRSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Clarksville’s newest brewery, Tennessee Valley Brewing Company, is hosting a grand opening on Friday, July 14 starting at noon.
The new brewery is located at 2088 Lowes Dr. and is owned by Wendy and Eric Branstrom, who both have military backgrounds.
The inspiration for Tennessee Valley Brewing Company came after Eric Branstrom received a brewing kit as a gift from his father one Christmas.
Eric said it took a while for the dream of his own brewery to come together, but after he and his wife Wendy lost multiple job opportunities, they decided to take control of their own lives.
There are currently eight beers on tap that are all brewed on the premises. The beers rang from stouts to IPAs, pale ales, radlers, and nut browns.
Eric said TN Valley Brewing is a place for someone who wants to try something different or experience a twist on one of their favorite types of beers.
The most popular beer offered at Tennessee Valley Brewing Company right now is Belgium, which is surprising to Eric.
“When I opened up here in Clarksville I didn’t know how Clarksville was going to react to it only because there isn’t a big beer scene here. I’m really pleased with how Clarksville is really liking something different,” he said.
The atmosphere of the brewery is military-friendly and presents itself as a great place to hang out and try locally brewed beer.
Eric and Wendy said that veterans, active duty military, firefighters and police officers are welcomed to bring in one of their patches and add it to the flag displayed on the wall as a tribute to the people who serve in the Clarksville community.
A patron at the brewery described beer sampling as an art that can lead you to something new that ‘maybe you thought you wouldn’t like.’
