CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (ESPN CLARKSVILLE) – Northwest High School’s Athletic Department is pleased to share that senior third baseman, Kyle Bradford, has committed to play baseball at Union College, located in Barbourville, Kentucky.

Kyle, a four-year member of the Vikings Baseball Team, signed his commitment paperwork in a signing ceremony held November 30, 2018 at Northwest High School.

Last year, Kyle hit .286 with 21 RBIs and had six doubles on the year. In addition to playing baseball, Kyle is also a four-year member of the Health Science Academy. He is also currently working toward earning his first responder certification through the academy’s emergency services program.

Kyle said he was most interested in Union College because it is a smaller school.

“When I took the tour, they told me that my biggest class might have about twenty students in it. With the smaller class sizes, I will get one-on-one contact with the professors, which my dad and I feel will be really important,” Kyle said.

He said he is most excited about the opportunity to play college baseball.

“This has been a dream of mine my whole life. I am really happy that I have the opportunity to fulfill that dream,” he said.

Northwest Athletic Director, Jessica Peppard, stated, “Northwest is incredibly proud of Kyle and his hard work both in the classroom and on the field. I have had the opportunity to work with Kyle for the last four years as the Academy Administrator and Athletic Director. Kyle has grown into a young man of strong character and work ethic. I am excited to see what he accomplishes at the next level, both athletically and academically at Union College.”

While at the signing ceremony, Northwest Head Baseball Coach, Chris Benne, expressed his excitment for Kyle.

“I am super excited for Kyle in signing to Union College, not just for Union, but also for Kyle Bradford,” Benne said. “He has made amazing growth since his freshman year, not just on the field, but also academically, as a large portion of his scholarship to Union is a result of his academic performance. I am really proud of Kyle and am excited for him to take this next step to the next level.”
