CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Northeast Varsity senior John Jasmer Jr. officially signed to continue his soccer career at Millsaps a Division 3 powerhouse.

John was accepted to 15 schools and recruited on all levels from Division 1 to NAIA. He found he was comfortable with a competitive Division 3 college closer to home.

He will finish his Northeast career as a 4-year starter on Varsity, three of which he spent as a captain. He is a 1st team All-District selection, 1st team All-Area selection and a All-tournament selection.

John also helped to anchor his defensive line last season, scoring the winning goal in capturing the District championship against Rossview 1-0. Currently

John is enjoying his senior season with his teammates by mentoring young, upcoming players that will carry on after he departs in the fall for college. His teammates and coaches named him the Offensive MVP in his sophomore season and defensive MVP in his junior year.

He was also recently named as a National Scholar Athlete which identifies the most academically gifted student athletes in the country.

John’s ultimate goal is repeating with his teammates as back to back District Champions, but understands that the other teams in the district are not going to make it easy.
