CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Kirkwood Cobras baseball team traveled to Northeast High School for a district matchup with the Eagles on Saturday. The pitching from Cameron Skaggs stifled the Cobras offense, and the Eagles won 9-0.

The Eagle’s offense heated up early, with a two-run homer from shortstop Jamarion Green highlighting the early scoring. Northeast only collected six hits, including two from first baseman Jackson Meece, but they were all at opportune times to score runners.

Kirkwood pitcher Kaiden Turner had a good relief outing for the Cobras, only allowing one hit in the final inning of the contest. But Northeast’s Skaggs was the one who stole the show on the mound, pitching a complete game shutout while only allowing three hits, walking two, and striking out five.

Northeast now sits third in District 13-4A, behind Clarksville High and Rossview, while Kirkwood is tied for fourth in that same district.
