Clarksville, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) –Northeast High shortstop Jamarion Green has been named Clarksville Now Player of the Week following his performance in five games for the Eagles during the week of April 14. He compiled a batting average of .405 across those five games and also had an on-base percentage of .526.
Green was efficient as ever at the plate, grabbing 6 hits in 13 at-bats, which included 4 doubles. The junior shortstop also made his presence felt on the bath paths, as he stole five bases last week.
“It means a lot to win this award,” Green told Clarksville Now. “All the hard work and dedication put in is paying off, but I couldn’t do it without my teammates and the man above.”
As for Northeast head coach Charles Ratliff, he said Green brings a lot to the team with his leadership, as well as keeping the players around him ready to compete. “Jay is an exceptional young man, both on the field and in the classroom,” Ratliff said.
Green and the Eagles will now look to continue their momentum in 2025, as they’ve won 11 out of their last 14 games.
