CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (ESPN CLARKSVILLE) – Two months after former Northeast high school head football coach Terry Arrington resigned, the Eagles have found his replacement.

Chad Watson will be the Eagles’ new head coach moving forward. Watson served as the defensive coordinator under Todd Hood the last four years at Clarksville Academy.

“The first thing I would like to do is thank Dr. Kay Drew and Coach Todd Hood for the opportunity to work at Clarksville Academy for the past four years. Clarksville Academy has a great group of young men on their team and I wish them nothing but the best in the future,” Watson said. “The mission of the Northeast Football team is to become a unified group of young men who play with unbelievable effort for a purpose bigger than themselves. I am extremely excited about this opportunity to be the head football coach at Northeast. I really believe they have all the necessary components of a successful program.”

The Eagles finished 5-5 last season under Arrington.

“From day one, my number one job is going to be to love on these kids to help mold them to be successful men in life. I want to produce men who will be great husbands, fathers, and employees in the future. As a team we will be much more concerned about the process of how we do things rather than the final product,” Watson said.

The Eagles open up their 2017 season against Central Harding, KY on August 19.
