CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Northeast Lady Eagles hosted the Station Camp Bison for a matchup at Northeast High School. Despite Qimara Summers 20-point performance, the Eagles fell to Station Camp 66-30.
The Eagles were able to get on top early, forcing the Bison to turn the ball over with quick hands and smart defensive play. However, turnover woes started to plague Northeast, and Station Camp went on a 30-2 run to close the half.
“We have a lot to work on, that’s first and foremost,” said Northeast head coach Tracy Mason-Blair. “We’re a young group, and we have to handle the basketball; we’re averaging too many turnovers.”
Northeast did not go without positives, as guard Qimara Summers went for 20 points, including three made 3-pointers. However, the Eagles fell 66-30, and look to improve as they move forward with the season.
“Qimara (Summers) had a lot, but she probably should’ve had more,” said Mason-Blair. “We’re going to get in the gym, and keep working. Each game we’re going to get a little bit better.”
