CSM (Ret.) Norman Wayne Borden, age 84, of Clarksville, TN passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Tennova.
Norman was born on February 17, 1939, to the late Clyde and Edith Borden. Norman is also preceded in death by his grandchildren, Joseph Borden “J.B.” Pennington and Kimberly Ann Lynch and brother, Larry Borden.
Norman is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Burns Borden; son, Charles W. Rose, Jr; daughters, Pamela (Jeff) Pennington, Debbi (Tommy) Hall, Cindi (Zane) Mason; brother; Tommy Borden; sister, Carolyn (James) Chandler; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren.
Norman was a lifelong athlete, after playing football for the University of Alabama he continued to lead during his 24 years of Honorable service with the United States Army, where he attained the rank of Command Sergeant Major. He continued to serve his community as an active member of the Queen City Masonic Lodge #761 and his time at the United States Postal Service. In 1966, he married Patricia, the love of his life, and took on a readymade family of four children, whom he raised as his own. Norman is loved dearly and will be missed greatly.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Neal Tarpley Parchman Funeral Home. Visitation will be Saturday, June 3, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Burial to follow immediately after the service at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
