CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – As Clarksville grows, so do the number of nonprofit organizations and their activities.
That’s created tremendous opportunities – both for volunteering and receiving help. But it’s also created scheduling conflicts among an increasing number of organizations filling up a busy local calendar.
To address that problem, Leadership Clarksville is establishing a new Clarksville-Montgomery County Non-Profit Quarterly Coordination Luncheon, and all local nonprofits are invited to attend.
The one-hour lunch meeting will be an opportunity for coordination, but Leadership Clarksville Executive Director Rich Holladay said it could become a place to collaborate as well.
“As Clarksville grows, there will be many overlaps in our outreach to both donors and participants. The goal of this meeting is to de-conflict schedules as well as collaborate together to obtain the best benefits for all,” Holladay said. “There is no obligation, of course; this is just a way to help us all mutually benefit and perform our mission with a minimal effect on someone else.”
Working among nonprofits, Holladay told Clarksville Now, “can be seen as competition; we want it to be collaboration.”
The first meeting will be Jan. 18 at the Economic Development Council building, 25 Jefferson St. Representatives of all nonprofit organizations in Clarksville-Montgomery County are invited. If you’re planning to attend, email Holladay at director@leadershipclarksville.com.
