CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Don’t you wish more people knew about your favorite nonprofit in Clarksville? Don’t you wish you had a way to help them raise money?
You can do both through the new Clarksville’s Best contest by nominating your favorites in the Best Nonprofit Organization category, starting today at noon.
How it works, what they win
The Nonprofit Organization category is open to any local nonprofit organization, foundation or service club that has 501(c)(3) status.
Once the nominations are in, voting will begin, and local nonprofits will compete to be named Clarksville’s Best, as voted on by readers here at home.
But it doesn’t end there, and here’s what’s new: The top two Nonprofit Organization vote-getters will compete in a two-week online fundraiser to see who can raise the most money for their group. We’ll promote both organizations with articles about the good they do in the community, and we’ll encourage people to donate.
Each nonprofit will keep what they raise, of course, but the one who raises the most will be the Gold winner and receive $24,000 in free advertising from 5 Star Media Group. The Silver winner will get $12,000 in free advertising.

This contest includes 155 categories in eight voting groups: Eat & Drink, Health & Beauty, Home & Garden, Motors, Schools, Services, Shopping and Things to Do. To see the full list of categories, and to make your nominations, go to this site.
Nominations start at noon today, Aug. 3, and end Aug. 14. Voting is Aug. 31-Sept. 18. It’s free to enter and free to win. Winners will be announced Nov. 19.
