CLARKSVILLE, TN – On March 28, a Clarksville group will once again participate in the nationwide day of nonviolent protest with the third No Kings National Day of Action.
In Clarksville, the event will take place at McGregor Park, with a community rally beginning at 3 p.m., followed by a peaceful demonstration. The event will feature a visible, community-centered gathering with signs, flags and coordinated chants, organizers said.
“Our community is coming together to stand up for our democracy, and yes, there is real anger right now,” said Karen Reynolds, organizer with Clarksville Indivisible. “We are tax-paying citizens, veterans, and neighbors who see what’s happening at every level of government.
“Clarksville Indivisible is led by two retired military women, Joy Rice and myself. We spent our careers protecting this country and its Constitution. We thought we had hung up our combat boots, but here we are, still fighting for freedom in a different way.”
Last year’s No Kings protest in Clarksville drew at least 600, up to 1,000 total participants, depending on the count. The first No Kings protest in 2024 in Clarksville drew an estimated 700 participants at the height of the crowd.
No Kings is a mass, nonviolent movement that has mobilized millions, from over 5 million participants on June 14, 2025, to more than 7 million people joining 2,700-plus events across all 50 states and the District of Columbia on Oct. 18, 2025, organizers said.
Organizers across the country include a broad coalition of groups such as the ACLU, American Federation of Teachers, Common Defense, 50501, Human Rights Campaign, Indivisible, League of Conservation Voters, MoveOn, National Nurses United, Public Citizen, and SEIU.
