CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Early Friday afternoon, Clarksville High School celebrated nine of their student-athletes who signed their national letters of intent. A national letter of intent, otherwise known as a NIL, indicates where an athlete has prepared to commit to continue their athletic and education careers.
The nine athletes were able to share the special occasion with one another, family members, friends and classmates. Each signee was introduced by their head coach at Clarksville High School, and the coaches went on to detail how each individual impacted the athletic programs at the school.
As they were honored one by one and put pen to paper, they thanked those who supported them over the years. Here are the individuals who were celebrated during the ceremony.

---|---|---|
Abigail Chappell | Softball | Cumberland |
Koen Ploeckelman | Cross Country | UT Southern |
Kirsten Greis | Soccer | Southern Indiana |
Maddie Bond | Soccer | Columbia State |
Chris Bagatini | Football | Austin Peay |

After the event, Athletic Director Shannon Cummings said, “The signees are great student-athletes who not only lead on the field or court, but are leaders within our school community. They are involved in various clubs and activities such as student government, honor societies and departmental clubs at CHS, while maintaining their high academic endeavors. They are also members on the ‘Clarksville Crazies,’ which is a spirit club that attends and supports all Clarksville High School athletic programs.”
Prior to the signing ceremony, the Wildcats already had three athletes sign NIL’s to take their talents to the NCAA. Autumn Spencer and Emberly Nichols both committed to Austin Peay University to play their respective sports in golf and softball. Another softball player in Breonna Snyder will attend Dyersburg State in the fall. With the addition of the nine student-athletes on Friday who committed, the total has now reached 12 and still counting.
