CLARKSVILLE, TN – The Clarksville Kings made history with their first-ever GNASH victory, defeating the Tennessee Outlaws 7–5. After going winless last season as the Montgomery County Rangers, the rebranded Kings, led by head coach Josh Tobin, finally broke through. The victory comes just one week after the Kings’ 9–1 opening loss to Station Camp.
The Kings struck first at 13:19 with a goal from Aidan Hasse (#22), assisted by his brothers Camden (#90) and Brock (#62) Hasse. The Outlaws countered quickly with back-to-back unassisted goals from Joshua Kuehn (#9) and Clive Keeler (#37) to take the lead. But the Kings closed out the period strong as Brock Hasse tied the game 2–2 with an unassisted effort at 1:43.
In the second frame, the Kings’ power play unit caught fire. Camden Hasse and Brock Hasse each netted power-play goals within a minute to put Clarksville ahead 4–2. The Outlaws trimmed the deficit late in the period with Keeler’s second of the night, ending the period 4–3.
In the third period, the Outlaws’ Kuehn completed a shorthanded strike early, tying the game 4–4. But Clarksville responded. Ethan Rawlings (#21) scored from Patrick Burns (#85) and Jackson Curran (#70), and despite Keeler’s hat trick bringing the Outlaws even again, the Kings surged in the final two minutes.
Curran netted the short-handed game-winning goal (GWG) at 1:34, then assisted on Aidan Hasse’s empty-net insurance goal at 1:14, sealing a 7-5 victory for Clarksville.
In a symbolic twist, former Kings goaltender Thomas Redden started in net for the Outlaws. All three Hasse brothers contributed on the scoresheet, combining for five points.
