CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. –(CLARKSVILLENOW) The GFWC of Tennessee, a member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs
(GWFC), is pleased to announce the formation of the GFWC Gateway Woman’s Club of Clarksville, a new chapter of the international volunteer community service organization formed in 1890.

The club will work on community service projects, many of which will focus on the following GFWC Community Service Program areas:

 Arts (music, dance, theatre)
 Conservation (beautification, recycling, preservation)
 Education (literacy, library, scholarships, tutoring, book clubs)
 Home Life (healthcare, hunger, housing)
 International Outreach (advocacy, education, action re: basic human needs, self-sufficiency)
 Public Issues (citizenship, emergency and disaster preparedness, safety, crime prevention, honor and
support of military)
 Advocates for Children
 Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention

Membership in the new club is open to women of all ages and interests. The club meets monthly on the 4th Monday evening from 6:00-7:30 pm in the small conference room at the front of the Clarksville-Montgomery County Library.

leadership skills, give back to their community through rewarding service projects, and have fun.”
