CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Drivers along Highway 41A through Oak Grove today will notice a new, flashing traffic signal in front of Oak Grove Gaming and Racing. The light is on flashing mode for now, but it will become a full-fledged traffic signal next week.

The light is being installed in anticipation of growing traffic through that area with the horse gaming center and restaurants opening next month.

For the rest of this week, 41A will continue to have the right of way. The Oak Grove Gaming and Racing approach will continue to have a flashing red signal to indicate stop, according to a news release from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

The signal will remain in flashing operation for one week to familiarize motorists with the new signal. The signal will be placed into red-yellow-green operation starting Tuesday, Sept. 1.

Motorists are strongly encouraged to exercise caution while driving through the intersection.

Oak Grove Racing and Gaming plans to open its gaming floor, four restaurants and event center on Friday, Sept. 18. The hotel, equestrian center, amphitheater, RV Park as well as the second season of live harness racing will follow later in the fall.
