CLARKSVILLE, TN – In a game against Rossview Middle School, Ko’Marious Shamell broke the single season New Providence rushing yards record set in 1970. The record of 723 rushing yards had previously been set by Justin Roby.
Shamell, an eighth grader at New Providence, broke the 53-year-old school record with 739 rushing yards. He averages 147.8 yards per game. In Tuesday night’s game against Rossview Middle, Shamell had 215 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
With two football games left in the season, New Providence’s record is 3-2. Their next game is at home against Kirkwood Middle School set for Tuesday, Sept. 19.
