CLARKSVILLE, TN − Clarksville Parks & Recreation, in partnership with Clarksville Neighborhood and Community Services (CNCS), is excited to unveil two new playgrounds at Dixon Park with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday, Dec. 9, at 1:30 p.m.

The public is encouraged to attend and bring children to explore the playgrounds designed for different age groups as soon as the ribbon is cut. The new playgrounds include one area for younger children and another for older, school-age kids. Both spaces feature age-appropriate equipment to ensure a fun and safe play experience for all visitors.

The park is on 10th Street downtown, next to the L&N Train Station.

These playgrounds are the latest enhancements to the Brandon Hills legacy neighborhood, made possible through Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding. This collaboration between city departments underscores Clarksville’s dedication to creating spaces that foster community connections and enhance residents’ quality of life.

“Over the past three years, our office has proudly directed nearly $750,000 in CDBG funds into revitalizing the Brandon Hills neighborhood,” said Michelle Austin, Director of CNCS. “These playgrounds, along with other community-focused projects like the L&N Train Station renovation and upgrades to athletic facilities, reflect our commitment to preserving and uplifting this historic area.”

The ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrates a continued investment in the neighborhood and invites families to come together to enjoy the new amenities.

Dixon Park is located at 117 S. 10th St. For more information about the event, contact Clarksville Parks & Recreation at 931-645-7476 or email parksrec@cityofclarksville.com.
