CLARKSVILLE, TN − Big changes are coming to Ewing Burchett Park as Clarksville Parks & Recreation prepares to replace the current playground with a new, fully accessible play space designed for children of all abilities.
Demolition of the existing playground is scheduled to begin on June 11, with the new equipment set to be delivered on June 16.
This project is part of a larger park improvement plan announced last year, made possible by a $495,000 grant awarded by the Clarksville-Montgomery County Community Health Foundation and facilitated by the Clarksville Firefighters Foundation.
In addition to the grant funding, the Burchett family generously donated land adjacent to the park, allowing for expanded amenities and increased green space.
“We are deeply grateful for the generous donations from both the Community Health Foundation and the Burchett family,” said Jennifer Letourneau, Director of Clarksville Parks & Recreation. “This project will provide inclusive play opportunities and transform the park into a more welcoming and accessible space for the entire neighborhood and North Clarksville.”
The new playground, designed with input from the local community, features a bright and modern layout with netted climbing structures, a dome-shaped rope course, swings, a slide, and soft rubber surfacing for safety and accessibility. The equipment encourages physical activity, balance, coordination, and imaginative play across age groups and ability levels.
Ewing Burchett Park is located at 520 Roselawn Drive in northwest Clarksville. For more information, call our office at 931-645-7476 or email parksrec@cityofclarksville.com.
