CADIZ, Ky. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) The SALTY VETS Foundation, a new nonprofit organization in the area, will host two major events in Trigg County, Kentucky in September.

SALTY VETS stands for Save Another Life Through Yours-Vision to Empower Trigg & Surrounding veterans.

The organization says their mission is to support the community of veterans through camaraderie.

On September 8 the group is holding Ruck 4 Vets, a ruck march through Land Between the Lakes in honor and memory of all of those who have served in the armed forces. Participants can choose newbie or SALTY by bringing a backpack or rucksack weighing 30 pounds, which isn’t mandatory but SALTY VETS suggests the challenge.
